Transformation still happens | Pastoral report from the Bahamas in wake of Dorian

The story out of Mississippi could not have been a more withering critique of cultural Christianity in America’s deep south. A woman refused to book a wedding at a venue because, “First of all, we don’t do gay weddings or mixed race — because of our Christian race, I mean, our Christian belief,” the woman says in the now-viral video. “I don’t want to argue my faith,” she says. “We just don’t participate.” What? She goes on to say that it is prohibited in the Bible.

Now, to her credit, she later sits down with her pastor who demonstrates that what she thinks is in the Bible, isn’t. She repents and makes a very public confession, offering a sincere apology. It is a living demonstration of Romans 12 but its also a testimony to just how Biblicaly illiterate some are in what is supposed to be The Bible Belt.

Ben Johnson wades into the deep water on this one.

Then, Carmen talks with pastor Bryn MacPhail from St. Andrews Presbyterian Kirk in Nassau, Bahamas.
