There is a steadily increasing trend of approval for physician-assisted suicide. A recent Gallup poll showed 72% of Americans say that doctors should be able to help terminally ill patients die. Christians should not be fooled by the sanitized language surrounding this issue, nor believe that it will only be legal for terminally ill patients.
Joni Eareckson Tada joined the conversation on this important and timely cultural and spiritual conversation. Her latest book is titled, When is it Right to Die? In response to the trend to skip the suffering, Christians acknowledge the pro-life position as from conception to natural death. And Christians are called to speak truth on God’s Sovereignty and to step into the suffering of others, lifting them out of social isolation, giving them emotional support and casting a vision and hope.
