Processing Our Public Grief
- We need public prayers of repentance and responsibility and those who were wrong need to tell those they mislead that they were wrong.
- In our private conversations we need to recognize that grief is a process, and that people are at different places (many still in denial): some angry, many bargaining (what about? yeah, but…), others depressed…some reaching acceptance?
- Personally reflect on where you are in this process, maybe even making some time and space to have room to prayerfully reflect.
Remember that Facts matter: the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help us God.

Dan Kimball – Author of “How NOT to Read the Bible”
With the full title of his book, “How (Not) To Read the Bible: Making Sense of the Anti-women, Anti-science, Pro-violence, Pro-slavery and Other Crazy Sounding Parts of Scripture,” Dan introduces the reader to the urgent need for us to understand Scripture in its complete context so that we can be assured that the Bible is God’s inspired word – The Word of God. He also sees this urgency play out in responding to claims that the Bible is harmful. Overall, our nation needs Biblical literacy and Dan is here with the hope to help that.
