What’s the value of a dollar and how does the macroeconomics of the nation (and world) affect your home economics? That’s the conversation Carmen has with Bill English in this episode. Bill explains the Federal Reserve, interest rates, monetary policy and how to differentiate from fiscal policy. Yes, really! All that and how the purchasing power of your dollar changes over time.
In the second half, Carmen talks with Dr. Thomas Schreiner, associate dean and professor of New Testament interpretation at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, about his book Paul, Apostle of God’s Glory of Christ (2nd edition). The theology of Paul is complex, Dr. Schreiner helps us understand and engage Paul’s thought process and takes us to the very center of Paul’s worldview.
One more thing: By a proclamation of President Donald Trump, today, Jan. 22 is National Sanctity of Human Life Day. President Trump wrote in a proclamation, “On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, our Nation proudly and strongly reaffirms our commitment to protect the precious gift of life at every stage, from conception to natural death.” The President added, “Every person — the born and unborn, the poor, the downcast, the disabled, the infirm, and the elderly — has inherent value. Although each journey is different, no life is without worth or is inconsequential; the rights of all people must be defended.” So, live today a life worthy of the life you have been given.
