Whoa! There are so many COVID headlines today! Who can make sense of it all? Dr. Zach Jenkins, that’s who. He’s back to talk through all this:
About half of U.S. states have suffered their highest daily coronavirus infection numbers in October, and the country as a whole set a record daily new case number. Democratic candidate for President, Joe Biden, citing health experts, warns this will be a “dark winter” of disease and death and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said plainly: “We’re not going to control the pandemic.” Pressed to explain why, he said, “because it is a contagious virus just like the flu,” adding that the government was focused on getting effective treatments and vaccines to market.
Meanwhile, people are struggling – really struggling. In Houston, at the largest food bank in the country, distributing a million pounds of food some days, the cars stretch more than half a mile all day long and there’s not end in sight to the demand. https://apnews.com/article/virus-outbreak-houston-bf8acccbe9c47a4a402046316aef5c67
It seems no one is immune – another topic Carmen and Zach address, along with death rates, excess death due to COVID, a vaccine timeline and what exactly does “close contact” mean?
If after you listening you say to yourself, “I want to know how to armor up with Ephesians 6,” check out the 40 day study Carmen posted last year in Lent.
