How are you dealing with COVID stressors? | The Hyde Amendment and Election 2020 | What Metanarrative frames your worldview?
The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Network Open report found the percentage of Americans reporting depression symptoms has tripled in 2020, correlating to the coronavirus pandemic. From 9% of Americans reporting symptoms of depression in 2019 to 28% in 2020. Economic stress leads the list of causes; substance abuse leads the list of coping strategies – followed by suicide ideation. Christians know a better way and Carmen talks in her opening commentary about how “God has got this.” She shares some of the multitude of stressors she and Jim have experienced during their first 10 years of marriage – and their commitment to trusting God to be God (and God is good!) when life is hard.
Carmen talks in this episode with Matthew Hawkins about the status of the Hyde Amendment and the future of the pro-life movement, and Dan DeWitt about a number of entries on the Weekend Worldview Reader.
