Lent day 9: The full armor, covered in ChristMarch 9, 2020
Ephesians 6:14-17 read “Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
Over the next few days we’re going to take these pieces of armor one by one but today I want to get them all into our field of vision. No part is left exposed. We are covered in Christ’s armor from head to toe – and we are in Him and He is in us. The union we have in Christ is essential to the conversation of spiritual readiness. So let us consciously and intentionally put on the full armor of the One who covers us, for He alone is Christ the Lord.
