Tommy Binion from Heritage processes through the Attorney General’s letter on the report of Special Counsel Robert Mueller into allegations of collusion between the Trump 2016 campaign and Russia. We should all be glad that there was no finding of criminal conspiracy between the President of the United States and a hostile foreign power, but not everyone is happy about it. Carmen and Tommy also discuss the case of Michael Avenatti. His client, Stormy Daniels, said she is “saddened, but not shocked,” that her attorney has been indicted on counts related to an old fashioned shake-down of Nike. Why do we seem so drawn to bad actors who are certainly characters but who lack character?
In view of recent headlines related to two suicides of teenagers who survived the shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglass High School in Parkland, Florida a year ago and the apparent suicide of the father of one of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut in 2012, Carmen and Tommy discuss the role of churches in addressing the suicide epidemic in what has become increasingly a culture of death.
Dr. Rosemary Stein returns to continue the conversation about youth, mental health and suicide. She and Carmen also discuss the importance of actual, real, paper books (vs. e-books) when reading to small children. Finally, they address recent research related to the psychotic risks of daily consumption of marijuana. It’s called reefer madness and its a real thing.
