Netflix Messiah v Jesus Messiah | Pop culture 2020 look back | Marvin Olasky on Reforming Journalism
Carmen talks with Focus on the Family’s Paul Asay from Plugged In about Netflix series, Messiah. What at best can be called syncretism is, at worst, leading people to believe things about the second coming of Jesus which do not align with God’s revealed Word. Carmen and Paul highlight the need to know what the Bible actually says about Jesus, the Messiah, and his promised second coming as believers prepare for cultural discussions the Netflix series will provoke. Then they discuss Pixar’s Float and Paul’s 2019 Pop Culture look back.
Marvin Olasky, editor in chief of World Magazine, joins Carmen for a conversation about his new book, Reforming Journalism. After discussing the state of journalism today, Carmen asks Marvin to differentiate between existential subjectivity and Biblical objectivity. They talk about bias, the importance of truth, and the Story behind, beneath and within every story we tell.
