He is Risen! He is risen indeed! Glory! Hallelujah!
Easter changes EVERYTHING…
Yes, everything. How we experience every moment of life, every joy, every challenge, every grief – but not only life – Easter changes how we view and experience death – and not only death – but the eternity which follows death.
Jesus’ crucifixion is the hinge of human history, but it is the resurrection which reveals the direction in which the future swings wide open to the possibility of real life!
We are people of the cross – yes! – but we are also people of the empty tomb.
We are Easter people.
We are the people who grieve, but not as those who have no hope.
We are the people who seek to change the world, knowing as we do that the real transformation and renewal of all things, the One who is going to set all things right, is yet coming again.
We are the people who see every brokenness, every broken body, broken relationship, broken heart, broken promise, broken person, broken system, broken branch — every broken thing — as a consequence of the fall in the garden — and we are the people who live by faith in the One who was broken – and yes raised! – that we might experience and proclaim the glory of his power and love and all sufficient grace.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ changes everything! It changed me. Has it changed you?
