Lent day 19: Prayer at all times, with an all access passMarch 19, 2020
We’re going to talk today about praying at all times with an open 2-way comms channel between here and heaven – but first, let me ask: have you ever been to a concert with an all access pass? That’s really what God is giving us when we pray in the Spirit and in the name of Jesus. When the curtain is torn in two at the death of Jesus, we get an all access pass to the very throne room of God. And in Ephesians 6 Paul tells us to use that pass at all times. The idea here is continual 2 way, open communication with God. That’s right, the channel is open both ways.
Praying at all times means while we have an all access pass to God, God also has an all access pass to us. Everywhere, all the time, God has access to our thoughts, relationships, accounts, streaming videos, social media feeds, conversations, all of it. So pray at all times, all access, both ways.
