Psalm 8 | Talking with Hindu neighbors about Shivratri | What is apologetics anyway?

Carmen leads off today with encouragement from Psalm 8

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory above the heavens.

Knowing God, by name, is no small thing. There is power in the name of Jesus. Indeed, there is no other name given among men by which we can be saved and God promises that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. There is something about that name!

So, in a world name calling, let us be the people who call out the name of Jesus because there’s something about that name!

Carmen talks today with public theologian Matthew Hawkins about what Democratic candidates were wearing on stage at the debate (yes, really!) and then they discuss a range of other topics, landing on a conversation about the Hindu celebration of Shivaritri.

In the second half, Carmen talks with Dan DeWitt from Cedarville University about this week’s Weekend Wordlview Reader as well as the general topic of Christian apologetics. What is it and why do we ALL need to become equipped for conversational apologetics today?
