The Reconnect 5-9-17 | Human rights and US foreign policy | Character-building

As Americans, foreign relations fall into the scope of responsibility of the U.S. State Department. But as Christians, our interests and concerns are not bounded by geo-political lines. So, how do we engage in the conversations taking place today at the intersection of the Christian faith and U.S. foreign policy? This becomes all the more relevant when considering a recent speech Secretary Rex Tillerson gave to State Department employees. He argued the US must first consider, “what are our national security interests, what are our economic prosperity interests, and then if we can advocate and advance our values, we should.”

In this world of crazy characters, how do we instill our kids with a godly character? And how would we know if we are successful? Our guest is Megan Scheibner, a mother to eight who leads Character Health Ministries with her husband Steve. She shares some practical insight and tips to help parents build up children who have these character qualities:

  • Respect others
  • Courage
  • Leadership
  • Responsibility
  • Compassion
