First, a small bit of good news from North Korea: the regime released a detained Canadian pastor.
But the big news of the day regarding North Korea is not good. The country has threatened to strike US territory Guam. President Trump responded, promising “fire and fury.” What is our response as Christians? Well, one pastor asserted that the Bible gives Trump the moral authority to nuke North Korea and most Christians would agree. Does the Bible (and therefore does God) authorize Donald Trump to enter into war and nuke North Korea? We discuss, looking at Romans 13.
So, what does a distinctively Christian witness look like in a time when blind allegiance or total alignment with either political party is not a faithful option? Bruce Ashford breaks down 8 Reasons Evangelicals Should Consider Embracing a Multi-Party Political System.
Amy Simpson is passionate about helping the church love and care for people with mental illness. Amy helps us think through important questions around our thinking and theology of mental illness. There is a very real ministry opportunity right among us to serve people with mental illness- are we ready to receive them and love them in Jesus’ name? She is the author of two books Troubled Minds: Mental Illness and the Church’s Mission and Anxious: Choosing Faith in a World of Worry.
