Reconnect One: GossUP
April 20, 2020Are you talking about me behind me back? Well, if not, why not? That’s right, I want you to gossUP.
GossUP, you ask? Yes, gossUP. Think of it as an antonym for gossip – the very opposite of tattle tales or nay-saying, GossUP is talking positively about other people behind their backs. Telling stories of catching people doing something right or righteous. Instead of picking out the pepper we salt our conversations with testimonies of yay-saying. The kinds of things that build up instead of tear down – celebrating the good others are doing in order that God might be glorified.
How might the conversations of the day be changed if Christians became known as the people who talked positively about one another behind each other’s backs?
Gossip is bad but gossUP – how good could that be?
I’ve determined to become an advocate of GossUP in the culture today. So, go ahead. Talk about me behind my back.
