Reconnect One: Moment of Truth
September 8, 2020It was only a murmur, “what’s wrong with the world?” I could have ignored the comment and I could have ignored him. I had my own table, my own coffee, my own work. I could have, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t stop myself from glancing over to see what provoked him to ask one of the ultimate questions.
My encounter at the coffee shop is not so different from thousands of encounters happening daily. It’s a moment of Truth.
There is confusion about who God is and how He is involved in human history. There is ongoing confusion about identity, love, grace, race, justice, authority, and much more.
Too often, when the moment of Truth arrives, we sideline God’s perspective in favor of our own.
As Christians, we have the Truth and are called to share it. We are representing Christ in the conversations of the day but the question is, are we giving people what they really need in their moment of truth?
