Reconnect One: Settled ScienceJuly 28, 2017
Reconnect One, with Carmen LaBerge
Don’t let anybody tell you scientists can’t be people of faith. They are.
In the past, astronomers had “settled” on the recipe for space. They said it was composed of 95% dark matter and dark energy. But even this so-called settled science is unsettled. Quoting from the New York Times:
“Nevermind that we don’t know exactly what all this dark stuff is. Astronomers have a good theory about how it behaves, and that has allowed them to tell a plausible story about how the universe evolved from when it was a trillionth of a second old until today.”
So I ask, how much faith is required to believe this “plausible story”? The cooks themselves admit they can’t identify the large majority of the ingredients! But of this they’re certain: it all started as a randomized coincidence of time, chance and chemistry.
Well I gotta tell ya, behind the Big Bang, we know there is a really big God.
