Reconnect One: UnexpectedAugust 30, 2018
I was listening to a Ted talk about rebuilding trust. The speaker is a Harvard business professor who took on the challenge of helping a multinational corporation address several serious breaches of internal and public trust.
She talked about the three essential building blocks of trust: empathy, authenticity and logic. I asked myself, how might this information help where trust has been broken in families, or churches or other Christian institutions?
Looking at the three building blocks with God-view eyes, we can see that the incarnation of Jesus Christ is empathy taken to the extreme. Authenticity is being who you are, all the time in and under every circumstance. And logic, is really just speaking the truth about reality. Which reminded me, that the truth is often in found in places we don’t expect to find it.
As ambassadors of the kingdom of God, part of what we do in the world is connect these kinds of dots every day.
