Reconnect One: With MeFebruary 6, 2020
It was an unusual speaking opportunity. The audience would be comprised of 500 people and more than a hundred dogs. The conference theme? With me on the road. And as the keynote speaker, I could take the “with me” command and run with it. And I did. Among the commands these comfort dogs learn are sit, down, stay, come, wait and play. But leading the list is “with me.”
Which led me to wonder, do we expect more of our dogs than we do of ourselves as disciples of Jesus? Do we do exactly what he commands the first time and every time?
Are we with him no matter what? The with me command is made possible by the with me promise. A dog is willing to obey because the dog trusts its master. How much more so ought we be willing to trust God who will never leave us nor forsake us? Indeed the one who is with us always, even to the end.
Are you with me?
