Adam Holz from Focus on the Family’s PluggedIn shares a review of Joker movie, opening nationwide today. Carmen and Adam discuss the horrible abuse backstory of the Joker’s character and depiction of mental illness and poverty in the film. Joker then descends into a fever dream of violence which he intends to resolve in one of two ways: killing others or killing himself. There are worldview opportunities for conversation prompting redemptive thoughts but Carmen recommends reading Invisible Neighbor instead of seeing this very dark film.
Adam and Carmen also discuss the television show, The Good Place. There are many good questions to ask and this show can easily be used as an entry point into conversation about life, death and what happens after we die.
Then, Megan and Vincent Lively join Carmen for an intimate conversation following her testimony on stage at the ERLC Caring Well conference (Live.ERLC.com).
