When you stop to actually think about what you think about the political, social and other issues of the day, are you forming your own Biblically informed responses or have you outsourced that work to others? Are you relying on the talking points posted by someone else or are you doing your own work when it comes to working out your salvation with fear and trembling on the heart wrenching challenges we face today? Kaitlyn Schiess wants us to do our own work and The Liturgy of Politics: Spiritual Formation for the Sake of Our Neighbors is a guidebook. She joins Carmen for a conversation about the stories we’ve adopted (sometimes without knowing it) and how we live out rhythms that may not be faithful if we stop long enough to consider the foundation upon which they’re built.
In the second half, Carmen catches up with David Aikman about:
- The Abraham Accords
- Russian and Chinese U.S. election interference
- COVID cases spiking in Europe
- Brexit (yes, that’s still happening!), and
- China…so many things about China.
