The word today is wake | Truth as a matter of life and death | D.A. Horton on InTENSIONal Ethnic Conciliation
Carmen deals with the wake created by the death of George Floyd. (by the time you’re reading this, violent protests have erupted in cities across America. Carmen’s commentary in hour today is a must listen.)
Matthew Hawkins is back for a conversation with Carmen about :
The Truth – and the assertion by the Washington Post editor in a commencement address to the Harvard University 2020 class that “the truth is a matter of life and death.” While he’s right, he’s also seemingly blind to the reality that there is difference between facts and truth. Truth is more than facts in the same way wisdom is more than expertise (remember the conversation had recently with Daniel Taylor?) Carmen and Matt also discuss the real division between people: theistic and nontheistic worldview. Everything else – literally everything else – follows.
In the second half, Carmen talks with D.A. Horton about his book, InTENSIONal: Kingdom Ethnicity in a Divided World. D.A. helps us see the sin of partiality as the root of what we call racism. He also equips up with new language, a vision and actionable steps forward NOW as Christians living the midst of great division in the world.
