What’s your name, your image or your likeness worth | Glory – you can’t handle the weight of it | Is democracy dying?
Coverage of the NCAA rule change allowing student athletes to be compensated for the use of their name, image or likeness got Carmen thinking about the name, image and likeness we bear into the world as Christians. She talks with Peter Kapsner about that story as well as the use of the word “glorious” in a Wired article about the victories biological male athletes are enjoying in women’s sports. Peter and Carmen discuss the real meaning of glory and how we are not designed to bear the weight of it.
Then Hunter Baker, Dean of Union University returns for a conversation about the ongoing presidential impeachment inquiry and the status of the U.S. as a democracy. Dr. Baker made reference to a recent ERLC event asking the question whether or not democracy has had its day. Carmen and Hunter also discuss the very meaning of “modern liberal democracy.”
